If he's fit, he will go – Wenger backs Welbeck for World Cup call
Arsene Wenger is "convinced" Danny Welbeck will force himself into England coach Gareth Southgate's World Cup squad if he remains fit. The former Manchester United attacker has been plagued by injuries over the last two-and-a-half years, managing just 33 Premier League appearances since the start of the 2015-16 season. Six of them have come this season and Welbeck boasts a decent record of three goals from those limited outings, although he has also suffered two groin strains which have interrupted his season.
