Man United's 12-year cup run to end – report

Manchester United’s astonishing and controversial 12-year run of 58 televised FA Cup matches will come to an end this season as the BBC and BT opt not to show their clash with Derby, according to the Daily Telegraph. There was a major backlash last season when United's third-round tie with Reading was televised, so the rights-holders have sensibly decided not to broadcast a similar unexciting fixture. The Merseyside derby – undoubtedly the tie of the round – will be BBC's opening pick on Friday 5, followed by League One Fleetwood Town or non-league Hereford v Leicester City on Saturday lunchtime.
