West Bromwich Albion join Arsenal in race for Ben Wilmot?

West Bromwich Albion have reportedly joined Arsenal in attempts to sign Stevenage centre-back Ben Wilmot. The 18-year-old is allegedly a target for Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, but according to The Sun, the Baggies have now expressed interest in the defender. The newspaper say that West Brom boss Alan Pardew, who is bracing for the exit of current centre-back Jonny Evans, is looking to build Wilmot into a starting contender for his side in the coming years. Former Manchester United man Evans is wanted by Arsenal and Leicester City, meaning that Pardew could have funds to spend on Wilmot should the Northern Irish international leave the Hawthorns.
