Analyzing the transfer business of the Premier League's top 6 teams
This season saw the Premier League spending record for a January transfer window double with the total crossing £419m on deadline day. The 'Big Six' alone spent £276m between them in a window that is usually known for its desperate purchases, and sales of only players that are surplus to requirements. It was fairly surprising to see the big clubs actively targeting players that would improve them midseason. Even Manchester City that seems to have all but secured the title, joined the party late on in the window.
