The Premier League season has come to an end – a sad moment for all football fans. One of the most entertaining divisions on earth, it didn’t disappoint with teams and individuals putting on a show for supporters and neutrals alike. We all know how the Premier League table finished, but some sides may have been more fortunate, or unfortunate than others. Thankfully, with the rise of statistics in sport we’re beginning to analyse matches with new and impressive degrees of intensity. One way of looking at games and their outcomes is expected goals.
