Joel Campbell had become the forgotten man at Arsenal having failed to land a regular spot in the team. The 25-year-old forward has been part of the club since 2011, but has been sent out on loan six times, with the most recent being a stint at Real Betis. During that spell, Campbell made just nine appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and creating a single assist.
