Petr Cech: 'I want to fight for Arsenal spot'

Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has insisted that he is relishing a fight for his Arsenal spot this season. Gunners boss Unai Emery brought in Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer, but Cech has since kept his place between the sticks and has started all five of Arsenal's Premier League ties. Speaking to the Evening Standard, Cech said that Leno's arrival does not rule out an extension to his current contract. "I'm in the last year of the contract so I guess it depends on my performances, the way I play and the way I stay fit throughout the season. Then we'll see what happens next," the stopper said.
