World Cup: Dutch trio star against Canada
Three of our stars were in World Cup action on Thursday night. Read on to find out how they fared. Vivianne Miedema, Danielle van de Donk and Jill Roord helped the Netherlands to take top spot in Group E on Thursday night, courtesy of a 2-1 win over Canada. Miedema came close to an opener when she lost her marker with a Cruyff turn and fired a low effort off the post, but Sarina Wiegman’s side would have to wait until the 54th minute to take the lead.
