Brown, who managed Hull City in the Premier League, responded to criticism of West Ham boss Allardyce as being a 'long ball' tactician. Allardyce was outed by Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal over a long-ball row last weekend but yesterday described himself as the most "sophisticated" coach in the Premier League. And Brown has come to the support of Allardyce, claiming the 63-year-old is a better manager than long-standing Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.
