There are quite a few reasons that I am surprised that Unai Emery has held onto his job at Arsenal to this point. Among the straws that really ought to have broken the camel’s back by now is Emery’s treatment of expensive ‘club assets’- for want of a better phrase. We were told when Emery was hired that he could slot into a director of football style structure now in operation at Arsenal. The available evidence suggests quite the opposite.
