Freddie Ljungberg in contention to be named permanent Arsenal boss

According to The Evening Standard, Arsenal are looking at Freddie Ljungberg as a permanent replacement for the position of first-team manager after Unai Emery was recently sacked following poor performances in the Premier League as well as Europa League. Ljungberg is currently the caretaker manager at the Emirates and was in charge of his first game against Norwich yesterday evening, where the Gunners were held to a 2-2 draw by the Canaries. The club management has revealed that Emery's future had been subject of internal discussions amongst the Board members for the past several weeks.
