Arsenal's decision to sell Alex Iwobi for £35m in the summer was an eyebrow-raising one but his recent display for Everton in the Merseyside derby has, from the perspective of the Gunners faithful at least, vindicated the north London side's decision to offload him. Fleeting bursts of promise gave Arsenal fans reason to suspect that another academy product was set to flourish at the top level and develop into an elite talent.
