After helping Uruguay to considerable success at the World Cup back in 2018, Lucas Torreira arrived at Arsenal as the club's much-needed successor to Gilberto Silva. The Gunners had long been without a bona-fide holding midfielder to help protect the back four, but now, they had gotten one of the most effective players in that position in European football.
