Arsenal and Spurs flops among 10 worst Premier League transfers of last summer

The summer transfer window has been delayed due to the prolonged 2019/20 campaign, with the European club season now set to run until August. It means that July - usually a month of transfer activity and rumours - is instead focused on constant football as the campaign reaches its conclusion. Last summer’s transfer window now feels like a particularly long time ago, having closed over 11 months ago. Since then, the coronavirus crisis suspended the season for three months and some players even had to agree temporary contract extensions to remain at their respective clubs until the campaign ends.
