Arsenal ready to bid for £25m Colombian striker

According to reports in The Metro, Arsenal have been cleared to sign Porto striker Jackson Martinez. Although Arsenal retained the FA Cup they were well behind Chelsea in the Premier League title race and Wenger believes Martinez could be the man to help secure next year’s title. The Portuguese giants have recently rejected a bid from Atletico Madrid but Arsene Wenger is poised to swoop in for the Colombian. The 28-year-old is currently on International duty, competing in the Copa America, so Arsenal will have to wait to get their man.
