Raul Sanllehi leaves role as Arsenal's head of football

Head of football Raul Sanllehi has left Arsenal, in a move designed to hand more recruitment control to manager Mikel Arteta. Arteta and technical director Edu will now lead Arsenal's transfer strategy, with managing director Vinai Venkatesham the most senior football figure at director level. Sanllehi's departure represents Arsenal's fourth major reorganisation since Arsene Wenger left the north London club in 2018. Owners Stan and Josh Kroenke hope the changes can help Arteta steer the Gunners into a new era of success, as the Spanish boss revamps the squad.
