Arsenal release injury-plagued Abou Diaby

Arsenal will release centre midfielder Abou Diaby when his contract expires this month. The Frenchman has been with the Gunners for nine seasons but he's hardly featured in the past three years due to a horrendous run of serious injuries. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has regularly said that the 29-year-old will be given the chance to prove his fitness, but he has been named on the list of free transfers heading out of the club. Japanese winger Ryo Miyaichi will also be released, along with five academy players.
