Lucas Torreira joins Atletico Madrid on loan from Arsenal
Lucas Torreira has joined Atletico Madrid from Arsenal on a season-long loan deal. The 24-year-old arrived at the Emirates Stadium from Sampdoria in 2018 and was persistently linked with a return to Serie A during the summer transfer window. The Uruguay international has fallen out of favour under Mikel Arteta at the Emirates Stadium and has found himself behind Granit Xhaka, Dani Ceballos and Mohamed Elneny in the Arsenal pecking order this season.
