Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi has reportedly told the club that he wants to leave after rejecting a new contract during the summer. The 28-year-old's current deal expires next year, meaning that he will be free to discuss a switch to foreign clubs from January. football.london reports that Mustafi was offered a contract extension during the recent transfer window, but turned it down and informed the Gunners that he is keen to leave when his current deal runs out. The centre-back is thought to favour a move to Serie A in order to be closer to his wife's Albanian-Swiss family, who live in Switzerland.
