Gabriel Martinelli 'suffers serious ankle injury'
Arsenal attacker Gabriel Martinelli could be facing another long period on the sidelines, having suffered a potentially serious ankle injury on Saturday. The Brazilian was named in the starting XI for the FA Cup clash with Newcastle United but appeared to turn his ankle as he warmed up for the contest. According to Sky Sports News, Martinelli will undergo a scan over the next 24 hours to determine the seriousness of the damage, but Gunners boss Mikel Arteta fears that it will be "bad news".
