Lucas Torreira's father explains transfer situation with Arsenal future unclear
The father of Arsenal star Lucas Torreira has explained where his son stands ahead of a summer return to north London. Torreira has spent the season on loan at Atletico Madrid, but has struggled for game time, making only starts in La Liga. The Uruguay international is set to return to Mikel Arteta’s side for next season when his deal in the Spanish capital. But Torreira’s father, Ricardo, has hinted that another year at the Emirates is highly unlikely. It’s thought that Torreira’s preferred move would be to Argentine giants Boca Juniors, but a loan switch to Ligue 1 or Serie A is perhaps more likely.
