There's a brilliant Youtube video of Johan Cruyff explaining his diamond formation on Dutch television. You may have seen it already, if not, it's here. 'You always think you help someone by going towards him but you help him most by walking away from him. For example, I have the ball, I like playing 1v1. So helping me means walking away.
