Arsenal agree to let 6ft 5in goalkeeper leave club after nine years without single appearance

Arsenal have agreed to let Deyan Iliev leave the club this month with the North Macedonian goalkeeping failing to make a single appearance for the first team. Signed from hometown club Fk Belasica in 2012, Iliev originally joined the Gunners as a teenager in the academy after an unsuccessful trial at Inter Milan. Impressing at youth level with 13 appearances for Arsenal's various academy sides, the North Macedonian penned a three-year contract extension in March 2015. Another deal swiftly followed in June 2018 following eight showings for the under-23s in the 17/18 season while the giant keeper was also included in the first-team squad for the 2-1 League Cup win over Norwich City.
