Mohamed Elneny and Egypt were left heartbroken after losing on penalties to Senegal in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations. Our midfielder played the full match as the Pharaohs went in search of a record-breaking eighth triumph in the tournament, but they could have fallen behind early on after giving a away a penalty, only for Sadio Mane to see his spot kick saved. Senegal looked the more likely to score, as Egypt broke up play but offered little attacking threat themselves and eventually the game went to extra time.
