Arsenal need a new skipper: Five captain candidates, including recent arrival

Arsenal skipper Mikel Arteta's new contract was announced last week with the 33-year-old set to stay for one more year as Arsene Wenger aims to benefit from his experience. However, after announcing that Arteta had extended his current deal, the boss hinted that the Spaniard may have to expect a bit-part role next term. 'I expect him to contribute much more than last season, but he also faces a battle,' Wenger told Arsenal Player. If that is the case, it may be in our best interest to appoint a new captain.
