We haven't had to work too hard to get the better of a Singapore select XI in our first pre-season clash, with Jack Wilshere helping us to a 2-0 lead in the first round of the Barclays Asia trophy. Chuba Akpom opened the scoring in the first half, and it wasn't until the hour mark that we doubled our lead. Mathieu Debuchy was taken down in the box, with an – in fairness – accidental tangle of legs seeing him go to ground. The referee pointed to the spot, and Wilshere stepped up. It was a calm and composed finish, waiting for the keeper to dive one way before lashing it in the opposite corner.
