BFG: Wake up call was needed

Per Mertesacker has revealed the Arsenal dressing room held an inquest into their New Year's Day defeat at Southampton with defensive responsibility at the top of the agenda. Speaking to the press after Sunday's win over Aston Villa, the club's vice captain confirmed a frank discussion had taken place about the need to focus at the back and that work had subsequently been undertaken on the training ground to cut out silly mistakes.
