Arsenal board sanction Benzema bid to break record breaking £42.5m Özil transfer

Arsenal sites are currently dominated with rumours of Karim Benzema's potential switch to the Emirates, a move which looks all the more likely given the board's recent revelation, as reported by the Daily Mail. The Real Madrid striker has been heavily linked with us in recent weeks, and Arsene Wenger has now been given permission to make a record breaking bid in order to bring him in (via the Daily Mail). As the Mail reports, our current record transfer is Mesut Özil – also signed from Real Madrid – who arrived at the club in 2013 after a £42.5m deal was agreed.
