Wenger tells Arsenal veteran he's no longer needed at the club

Mathieu Flamini has been told he is surplus to requirements at Arsenal, with Arsene Wenger informing his fellow Frenchman that he no longer has a future at the club, as reported by the Express. The Arsenal veteran has seen his first team opportunities limited since the emergence of Francis Coquelin, and has now been told he can leave the club this summer. Flamini was a major player during his first spell with the club between 2004-08, but many felt it was a mistake to bring him back on a free in 2013.
