Arsenal youngster Alex Iwobi signs new long-term contract
After Arsenal's resounding 3-0 win over Manchester United, the question is whether they can maintain that level over the course of a season. Arsenal have signed under-21s starlet Alex Iwobi to a new long-term contract, the club announced on Tuesday. The new deal solidifies an excellent start to the 2015-16 campaign for Iwobi, who earned a call-up to the Nigeria senior team last month, despite a history of playing for England at the U16, 17 and 18 levels. The 19-year-old, who is the nephew of former Premier League star Jay-Jay Okocha, is delighted to have extended his stay at the Gunners and now has his sights set on making some first-team appearances in the coming months.
