Giroud admits to ‘helping hand' during opening goal against Bayern Munich

Super sub Olivier Giroud has spoken about his somewhat fortuitous goal against Bayern Munich yesterday, admitting that sometimes a striker requires a ‘helping hand from destiny' to kick off a goal scoring phase (via the Mirror). The Frenchman started the game on the bench, but was brought on for Theo Walcott in the 76th minute. From then, it took all of three minutes for Giroud to get himself on the scoresheet and open the scoring for us. Giroud was definitely deserving of that goal; he was the one who won the free kick in the first place.
