Former Arsenal favourite could become Mayor of London

Former Arsenal centre-back Sol Campbell is being lined up by the British Conservative party as a shock candidate for London Mayor. The defender met with representatives for the Tories in December and though it is unclear what was discussed, the Sun speculates he could be in-line to replace Boris Johnson in 2016. When asked about the news, Campbell was understandably coy but said that he was 'definitely' interested in the role. Adding: 'We'll see what happens. A few more conversations have to take place.'
