Wenger: Campbell wanted to leave

Arsene Wenger has admitted Joel Campbell wanted to leave the club this summer due to the lack of first team opportunities. On his various loan spells at the likes of Olympiacos, Villarreal, and Real Betis, he had played regular first team football, but at Arsenal his role was peripheral, at best. However, given a chance to showcase his talent on Saturday, the 23 year old capped his first Premier League start with a goal, and drew praise from his manager.
