Ex-Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen to leave Barcelona? Lazio plot move
Lazio are plotting a move for former Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen, claim reports in Italy. The Belgian has made just 12 appearances for Barcelona since joining them from the Gunners in the summer of 2014 and is reportedly keen on a move to Serie A. Vermaelen spent almost the entirety of last season on the sidelines with a thigh injury and has been unable to dislodge Barca's centre-back pairing of Gerard Pique and Javier Mascherano this term.
