Former Arsenal and Chelsea star accepts MLS move

Roma defender Ashley Cole has reportedly accepted a move to join MLS side LA Galaxy, according to speculation in Italy. Reports suggest that the former England international has bid farewell to his teammates at the Stadio Olimpico, with the Serie A side cancelling his contract, as noted by Sky Sports. It has been a difficult period in Cole's career, as after initially moving to Italy with a great deal of optimism about reviving his career, he struggled to adapt to the Italian top flight. In turn, he lost his place in former boss Rudi Garcia's starting lineup, and suffered a further snub by being omitted from the club's 25-man Champions League squad.
