Wenger Defends Theo Walcott After Defeat To Chelsea

It has been reported that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has defended Theo Walcott after defeat to Chelsea. Walcott, who celebrated his ten-year anniversary at the club earlier this week, led out the side ahead of vice-captain Per Mertesacker for their crucial clash with Guus Hiddink's side, against whom they had not scored in the league since 2013. The captain was hauled off for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on 75 minutes after another poor display but Wenger denied that handing the armband to Walcott had had any impact on his side's performance.
