Arsenal youngster steps up in testing conditions
Arsenal youngster Stephy Mavididi has been heavily praised by the U-21 side boss Steve Gatting for his performance against Stoke City after Dan Crowley had been sent off. The forward grabbed a brace in the 3-1 victory over Stoke City's U-21s and his exploits are certainly appreciated, according to Gatting (via Arsenal.com). Arsenal's U-21 side has been long supplemented by signings from abroad, and Mavididi looks to be one of those set for the big time. The 18 year old striker, who was born in Derby, won a lot of plaudits for his prolific displays last season and stepped up his performances with 12 goals in 13 games for the U-18 team.
