£40m Arsenal striker target could be available after turning down Chelsea

Gonzalo Higuain apparently turned down a switch to Chelsea this January, with current Blues boss Guus Hiddink unable to guarantee him first team football, as reported by the Daily Mail. The fact that talks got far enough for the Argentine international to turn Chelsea down, however, suggests that Napoli are willing to let the player go if their valuation is met. Chelsea were apparently ready to meet that valuation – though to be around the £40m mark (via the Daily Mail) – but Higuain opted to stay in Serie A. If Arsene Wenger really is determined to add a new striker to our ranks, then it seems Higuain is available. If the manager is willing to match what Chelsea offered...
