Arsene Wenger reveals Arsenal can spend big in the transfer market
SPLASH THE CASH: Arsene Wenger believes Arsenal are in a position to spend big in the transfer market [GETTY] The Gunners have been limited in their dealings in recent seasons due to the costs of moving to the Emirates Stadium from their former Highbury home. The French boss admits the club lacked the financial power to compete with their bigger rivals - but insists their accounts are now in rude health. Wenger told BBC Sport: "What people forget is we had to build a stadium. To build the stadium we had to create money and today the weight of that is not important any more. “We can compete again to fight for the best players but that was not the case five or six years ago”...
