Wenger: Arsenal wanted Lukaku before Chelsea move

Arsene Wenger says Arsenal were interested in Romelu Lukaku before the Belgium striker joined Chelsea.   The Gunners will come up against Lukaku on Saturday lunchtime when Wenger takes his side to Goodison Park to face Everton. The Toffees forward has scored 18 goals this season, one behind Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy in the race for the Premier League's Golden Boot. Despite Everton's insistence that the striker is not for sale, the 22-year-old has been linked with a host of top clubs in the summer, including former team Chelsea.
