Arsenal veteran could join Pep Guardiola's staff at Manchester City

Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta is reportedly being lined up by incoming Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola to become part of his backroom staff at the Etihad. The 34-year-old is out of contract with the Gunners this summer, and while there hasn't been much in the way of developments over a new deal, it is suggested that he is considering retirement from playing given his injury woes in recent times. Those injury problems have restricted the former Everton captain to just eight Premier League appearances this season, and with opportunities limited under Arsene Wenger, it is possible that he may call time on his playing career.
