New Liverpool signing suffers serious injury, increasing odds of 39-year-old getting Premier League game time

New Liverpool signing Loris Karius will miss the start of the Premier League season. According to BBC Sport, the 23-year-old no.1 has been ruled out for eight to 10 weeks with a broken hand – an injury which is naturally pretty serious for a goalkeeper. Karius damaged the contents of his gloves in this week's 1-0 friendly defeat to Chelsea in California. This injury almost certainly means that Danish stopper Simon Mignolet will begin the season between the sticks for Liverpool, who open their campaign with a trip to Arsenal on August 14.
