Wenger Confirms Contract Talks Imminent
Arsene Wenger has revealed Arsenal are set to restart negotiations with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez over contract extensions for the pair. Both players have deals running until 2018 and the club are desperate to extend their stays in North London. Mesut Ozil signed for Arsenal from Real Madrid in 2013 for a fee of £42.5 million and has made over 100 appearances for the club since then. He has 21 goals for The Gunners in all competitions. Sanchez meanwhile arrived at the Emirates a year later from Barcelona for £31.7 million. The Chilean has 43 goals in all competitions in his 96 appearances for Arsenal.
