Kieran Gibbs: 'First half against Italy was not good enough'

Kieran Gibbs has warned that England must not produce a repeat of their first-half display in the 1-1 draw with Italy earlier this week. A sluggish start in Turin handed the advantage to the hosts on Tuesday before Andros Townsend came off the bench to cancel out Graziano Pelle's opener, and Gibbs admits that the need for improvement is clear. "I felt we weren't good enough in the first half," the Arsenal defender told reporters. "We picked it up in second half, but it's frustrating because we know we can do better. "They made it frustrating for us, obviously had a lot of bodies behind the ball. "We were definitely told at half time that we needed to change that....
