Gunning Down The Years: 1st April

Given the fixture tomorrow afternoon, it's fitting that today is the anniversary of an Arsenal victory at home in the league over Manchester City. Specifically, it's the 67th anniversary. How time flies, eh? Back in 1950, the Gunners were…well, in a very similar situation to the present, actually; they had lost there previous league game 3-1 to a team from the Midlands, for one thing. Arsenal sat in 7th place, and before that defeat – at home to Aston Villa – had drawn 3 league games in succession against pretty ordinary opposition; Fulham, Charlton, and Middlesbrough. These dropped points had seen them falter considerably, 6 behind pace-setters Manchester United....
