Arsene Wenger: This Arsenal star should be in Gareth Southgate's squad
The Arsenal boss brushed aside speculation surrounding his whereabouts next season to publicly post Walcott's credentials to play for AND skipper the national team in Russia. Arsene Wenger is hoping Gareth Southgate will return to Selhurst Park tomorrow night to run the rule over a player he overlooked for England's last two games against Germany and Lithuania. That was a decision which surprised the Frenchman, even though competition for England places - especially up front - is more fierce than it has been for some time.
