Arsenal, Benfica show interest in Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson?

Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson - currently on loan at Shrewsbury Town - reportedly emerges as a transfer target for both Arsenal and Benfica.

Arsenal and Benfica have reportedly shown an interest in Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

The 20-year-old is yet to make a first-team appearance for United, but his performances on loan at Shrewsbury Town appear to have alerted two of European football's biggest clubs.

According to The Sun, both teams are considering whether to make an approach for the youngster, whose contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of the season.

Arsenal would be required to pay a fee for Henderson - whether that be in January or at the end of the campaign - but Benfica would be able to sign the shot-stopper on a free transfer if he opts against extending his stay at United.

As it stands, David de Gea, Sergio Romero, Joel Pereira and Sam Johnstone are all ahead of Henderson in Jose Mourinho's pecking order.

Henderson has kept five clean sheets in 11 appearances for Shrewsbury, who currently top the League One standings.
