What's the story?
Arsenal's Jack Wilshere is all set for a shock switch to Liverpool in the summer, according to multiple reports in British news outlets, The Daily Express and The Sun. The English midfielder is in the midst of contract negotiations with Arsenal and has reportedly been offered a pay-cut due to his injury record.
Thus, Jurgen Klopp is willing to swoop in and offer an improved contract for Wilshere, with a view to replacing Emre Can, who is also running down his contract.

Wilshere has been with Arsenal since 2001 when he joined the youth system as a 9-year-old. The youngster was fast-tracked through the youth systems, before making his debut for Arsenal in 2008, at the age of 16 - the youngest player to feature for Arsenal in the Premier League.
A loan spell to Bolton followed, after which Wilshere had his breakout season in the 2010/11 season. However, injuries curtailed his progress - with Wilshere making a loan move to Bournemouth last season in a bid to prove his fitness.
The heart of the matter
Wilshere's contract with Arsenal runs out at the end of the 2017/18 season, with negotiations for a new deal currently going on. However, it appears the Gunners have not offered their midfielder an improved wage - preferring a deal that guarantees Wilshere more money only if he plays.
According to the report in The Sun, Liverpool are willing to match Wilshere's current wage of £90,000-a-week, with Jurgen Klopp a huge fan of the midfielder. The Reds are hoping to lure Wilshere much like they did Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain - especially since Emre Can is on his way out of the club.

The Sun seems to have good sources within Arsenal, but they do not enjoy the best of reputations when it comes to transfer rumours, so this is probably not a transfer that is likely to come true.

Wilshere would easily walk into most Premier League squads, especially given he has the advantage of being a home-grown player. However, Liverpool are well-stocked in midfield, especially with Naby Keita coming in next season - so they probably do not need the Englishman.
