Three of our stars were in action for their loan clubs on Saturday - read on to find out who was involved and how they fared.

Reiss Nelson scored on his Bundesliga debut as Hoffenheim slipped to a 2-1 defeat against Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Alfredo Moreno opened the scoring for the hosts on the stroke of half-time, but upon the introduction of Nelson in the 72nd minute, the dynamic of the game changed and Hoffenheim soon found themselves level.

Our 18-year-old winger received the ball inside the box and beat his marker with a delicate first touch, before finding the bottom right corner with a cool finish from a tight angle.

It looked as if Nelson had salvaged a point for Julian Nagelsmann’s side with less than four minutes remaining on the clock, but Fortuna went on to secure all three points through Dodi Lukebakio, who converted from the spot in the 88th minute.

Takuma Asano played 65 minutes of Hannover 96's 3-2 loss to RB Leipzig.

Leipzig broke the deadlock through forward Yussuf Poulsen in the ninth minute, but Niclas Fullkrug equalised less than four minutes later.

Miiko Albornoz then went on to score in the 65th minute, but Timo Werner’s brace either side of half-time ensured that the hosts left with all three points.

Matt Macey played the entirety of Plymouth Argyle’s 1-0 loss to Blackpool.

Mark Cullen scored the decisive goal from close range in the 14th minute, before Donervon Daniels and former Gunner Marc Bola were sent off deep into stoppage time.

Elsewhere, David Ospina (Napoli) and Calum Chambers (Fulham) were named on the bench for their loan clubs but failed to feature.

Lorenzo Insigne found the back of the net as Napoli ran out 1-0 winners over Fiorentina, while Fulham were beaten 3-0 by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Leroy Sane and David Silva found the back of the net inside the opening 20 minutes, before Raheem Sterling made it three just two minutes into the second half.
