Reiss Nelson scores twice for Hoffenheim

Four of our players featured for their loan clubs over the weekend - read on to find out who was involved and how they fared.

Reiss Nelson scored his first brace for Hoffenheim on Saturday as they ran out 3-1 winners over Nuremberg.

Hanno Behrens opened the scoring for the hosts from the penalty spot, but following the break, Nelson scored twice inside seven minutes to hand Hoffenheim the lead. Adam Szalai scored their third, before Nelson was substituted in the 70th minute. Our 18-year-old winger has now scored four Bundesliga goals in 163 minutes.

Krystian Bielik started in central defence for Charlton Athletic on Saturday as they defeated Barnsley 2-0 in League One.

Karlan Grant scored either side of half-time to secure all three points for the Addicks. Bielik played the entirety of the fixture.

Calum Chambers played 45 minutes of Fulham’s 4-2 defeat against Cardiff City on Saturday.

Chambers started at right back, but was taken off at half-time due to injury. Goals from Andre Schurrle, Josh Murphy, Bobby Reid and Ryan Sessegnon ensured that the two sides were level at the break, before second-half strikes from Callum Paterson and Kadeem Harris secured all three points for the hosts.

Matt Macey played 90 minutes of Plymouth Argyle’s 3-2 loss to Burton on Saturday.

Freddie Ladapo opened the scoring for the Pilgrims in the ninth minute, before Kyle McFadzean equalised less than 10 minutes later. Ladapo restored their lead on the half hour mark, but goals from Lucas Atkins and McFadzean gifted the visitors all three points.

Elsewhere, David Ospina and Takuma Asano were unused substitutes for Napoli and Hannover, while Kelechi Nkwali failed to feature for Porto B.
